The Chicago Motor Club building was designed by Holabird & Root and built by The Chicago Motor Club in 1928. The building is 15 stories, totalling 85,190 square feet and has an adjacent 5,000 square foot lot located on the west side, the view corridor of the building.

The Motor Club Hotel will be a 189 key, 4-Star Hotel that will cater to business and leisure travelers with its prime location between Michigan Avenue and State Street Shopping and Theatre distcricts, proximity to Millennium Park, breath taking sunset views of the Chicago River, large rooms and suites, restaurant and bar located both on ground floor and roof, world-class lobby and lounge in the historic Art Deco lobby.

The project consists of renovating the Motor Club building and adding a 63,595 square foot addition on the west lot. The project is within the City of Chicago's zoning, FAR and setback requirements. it is estimated that this project will take 16 months of construction to complete. Currently the project is looking for debt and equity. The team consists of: Architects, Solomon, Cordwell & Buenz and John Vinci of Vinci/Hamp; Construction, bovis Lend Lease; Developer, Sam Roti of Markwell Real Estate & Development, Financial Advisor, Dan Alpert of Westwood Capital and the Hotel flag has not been selected.
